Steve Hanson joined PLM Lake and Land Management in 2002, working in the Northern Lakes Division before establishing PLM’s Eastern Michigan Lakes & Ponds Division. As Senior Regional Manager, he oversees operations at PLM’s Morrice location, supporting aquatic management programs for lakes and ponds throughout the region.
Steve earned both his Bachelor of Science and Master’s degrees from Michigan State University, specializing in fisheries biology. While at MSU, he conducted research on the use of fluridone in Michigan waters. His academic background and field experience have contributed to PLM’s work in evaluation treatments and long-term aquatic plant management strategies.
Steve has led numerous multi-year projects, including studies on curlyleaf pondweed turions and long-term management using low-dose Sonar A.S. treatments. He is also a licensed drone pilot and oversees PLM’s drone program, in addition to managing the company’s GIS and mapping initiatives.
A lifelong outdoorsman, Steve enjoys fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family.
