Mike Pichla

Mike Pichla joined PLM Lake and Land Management in 2015 while attending Grand Valley State University. He currently serves as Regional Manager at PLM’s Gaylord location, where he oversees lake management operations and supports aquatic programs across northern Michigan. In this role, Mike works with lake associations, municipalities, and property owners to implement effective, science-based management strategies.

Mike earned his Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management and Biology from Grand Valley State University. He is a certified applicator in aquatics, right-of-way, and forestry. He began his career with PLM in the Alto office, where he served as Pond Operations Manager and gained extensive experience in plant and algae control before transitioning into lake management.

Mike’s experience managing waterbodies of all sizes has helped him develop practical, results-driven management approaches that meet the needs of lake residents and users.

Outside of work, Mike is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys training and working his bird dogs, as well as spending time in nature with his wife.
